Roma, Italy

Our friend splits her time between Oakland and Roma. Two lovely places to call home. We happened to be in Rome at the same time, and thought it sounded like a beautiful place for Pasqua.

  • Scuderie del Quirinale - Saw an impressive collection of the science and scientific influences of Leonardo Da Vinci, including models based on his drawings

  • MAXXI - Excellent Paolo Di Paolo photo exhibition and super playful installation by Paola Pivi where we crawled around on a giant bed

  • Pastas of Rome - Tasted and loved the big 3 pastas of Rome: Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe and Amatriciana

  • Holy Week - Experienced many different Christian expressions of faith during Holy Week including Pasqua at All Saints' Anglican Church near Piazza del Popolo

  • Pasquetta - The day after Easter is a national holiday and many Italians take a picnic to the countryside

  • Orto Botanico di Roma - Found some of our favorite Mediterranean native plants as well as discovered some exotic cacti from Mexico

  • Contorni - The wonder of the veggie side dishes found on menus in Italy

  • La Barrique - Really enjoyed this awesome natural wine bar in Rome that also serves up fantastic pastas

  • Open Baladin - One of our top burger places in the world with 100% Piemontese beef and creative beers
