We were invited to join as founding partners of the first annual Oakland Turkey Trot. Honored by in the invitation we worked hard to create a visual brand identity system and website that reflected our glorious city of Oakland. The event was a total hit bringing in over 3000 runners and major investments from Oakland corporations. A great deal of money was raised for the Alameda County Community Food Bank.

More than just a healthy start to the holiday, the Oakland Turkey Trot 5K is a fun way to give back while you give thanks. In partnership with the Mayor’s Office, Alameda County Community Food Bank, Oakland Public Schools and local sponsors and charities, we are honored to bring Oakland its first Thanksgiving Day community fitness event that is 100% The Town.

Logo Design

We wanted the logo to reflect the actual location for the race, Lake Merritt. We illustrated the signature elements of geese, ducks and trees. By extending the ascenders and descenders we created an implicit start and finish line.

Postcard Design

The postcard features custom illustrations of the gorgeous architecture around Lake Merritt that runners pass regularly. We incorporated the design elements throughout the design assets.

Website Design

The website keeps racers up to date with race routes and details about the race. We also created a showcase for the sponsors and ways to get involved with volunteer oppotinutues.

Design Assets

We created various design assets and elements can can be used for future events. Due to the success of the first race we hope to see them up and around town through the years to come.

What a great team! Bryan and Stephanie did, and continue to do, amazing work for our Oakland events. We initially needed the works - logo, website, collateral, and colors with a very local feel AND on a tight timeline. They came through in a big way. I’m so grateful to have found our design partners in Oakland, who are also just amazing people.
